Ever sat on a front porch, with a good friend or family member, sippin’ on something sweet, solving the world’s problems? It’s the place where shoes are optional, but friendships are guaranteed.
Especially coming from deep south Mississippi– we feel like we’re connoisseurs of the art of a “front porch conversation.” From the creaky rocking chairs on our grandparent’s front porch to the smell of fresh paint on the porch of our parent’s new house– we’ve never experienced one we didn’t love. We’re sisters, Amberly and Whitney (or ‘The Wilson girls’) and we’ve been raised with a front porch frame of mind. See, on the front porches of our lives, we’ve learned, laughed, listened, loved, and yes, even lost. We’ve been taught all things Jesus and family. We’ve laughed until we cried, and we’ve cried the real tears too. We’ve crafted, we’ve made mud pies, we’ve written notes of thanks, we’ve rocked a newborn baby, we’ve caught a lightening bug, we’ve gotten a first kiss goodnight, and we’ve watched a good thunderstorm roll in. When we look at our lives, we can recognize that a front porch isn’t just a pretty place– it’s molded and shaped us. It’s a feeling, an emotion, a frame of mind, a confidence, and a lifestyle that we want to pass on.
So I guess what we’re saying is, “Welcome.” Grab a spot on the swing. We wanna chat about all things Southern. We wanna gab about life, hardships, fun, family, and other beautiful things. We want to learn from you and you from us. Most importantly, when you leave, we want you to feel uplifted, encouraged, and like we’ve hugged you BIG on the front steps. I bet we’ve got a lot in common, and we can’t wait to know you.
So…. yes, we’re home! Our front porch is open to any and all. We’re just two sisters navigating life with a front porch frame of mind. Why don’t you come on over and sit a spell? ❤
