Happy Monday, y’all! I’m not sure if everyone has heard but my husband and I have just recently purchased 6.2 acres on Flat Top Mountain here in Chattanooga, TN. We are SO excited and grateful! It’s a beautiful property and we can’t even DEAL with the excitement and prospect of raising a family on that land one day in the future.
Cannot wait to be swinging on my front porch with a cup of coffee enjoying this view one day!
So our plan is to live in our sweet little townhouse for about a year (or two!) while we prepare to build. Even though building won’t be started in the near future, I am who I am and of course I’ve already started drawing inspiration from other beautiful southern homes. I don’t know exactly what I want yet, I’m still learning my style, but I would describe me as traditionally southern, with a ‘touch’ of Joanna Gaines, and some glam flair. Is there a house style for that? I have got to start watching more HGTV so I can get better at this. Help me Lord.
Anyway, I love home inspo posts, so I thought I’d share a few pictures I’ve pinned recently on my personal Pinterest board. There are small things I love about each and you’ll see a range of styles, but here are some inspo pics that “stopped me in my scroll.”
No matter what our house looks like, I cannot wait to choose a plan with a beautiful, warm, inviting front porch!
I have always dreamed of a tree lined driveway. Even though we’ll be clearing many of the trees on our land to get the best view, hopefully we’ll be able to keep as many as possible!
I love the idea of a white house that will stand out on the mountain in sea of beautiful trees. We’re open to other colors/finishes, but I loved this white with the wood accents.
I’m not a huge fan of this house design, but I love the mix of board and batten siding and white painted brick.
This is probably one of my favorite home designs I’ve seen so far. I really love the two dormers, and the big front porch.
I love the idea of two-toned cabinets and a gray/gold color combo is so good it makes me wanna slap my mama. Sorry mom!
We definitely want an open concept to entertain, but I like the idea of an archway or some sort of demarcation to “separate” the kitchen from the rest of the open space. Exposed brick makes my heart pound.
Something about these exposed beams make me want to “come on in this house!” and relax!
I love walking into a beautiful foyer and seeing a statement curved staircase!
And last, but certainly not least….
…my own beauty room/office is what DREAMS are made of!
Duane and I are having the MOST fun dreaming about the future and getting excited about building a home one day! It’s all just a hope and a dream on Pinterest right now, but my heart starts puttering every time we take that windy drive up the mountain. Do you love any of these photos too? Which is your favorite? Let us know in the comments!
